PROJECT DESCRIPTION
EZ Healthcare is an established leader in practice management software and an innovator in electronic health records (EHR) software. EZ Healthcare is known for its flexibility and has been providing software solutions to physicians for over 20 years.
EZ Healthcare approached the DeCort Hosting division because their owned, existing servers began to suffer intermittent failures and many of their client’s VPS servers were stuck in a tenuous state with minimal support capability. Additionally, EZ Healthcare’s hardware had no drive redundancy and no node-based backup solution. This would leave the client with a significant chance of total data loss in the event of a hardware failure.
EZ Healthcare’s clients needed a solution that provided access to their individual VPS nodes with a secure method to guarantee the integrity of the systems and prevent systems compromise. They turned to DeCort Interactive’s Hosting division for a solution.
OUR APPROACH
Our hosting team set out by provisioning new Windows Server 2012 R2 nodes for each of EZ Healthcare’s client accounts and migrated the site to the new nodes in a staged fashion. This ensured that each of their client accounts were able to migrate with minimal impact on their workflow and without experiencing any system downtime.
The team then established a secured private network and VPN solution to allow clients access to their VPS nodes without access from the internet at large. This solution also maintained remote ability for the client and ensured that they were able to access their data/systems wherever and whenever needed.
The new hosting solution provided RAID 10 storage for all VPS nodes to guarantee up-time during a drive failure. Periodic system image backups were also implemented to ensure easy restoration of a VPS in the event of system complications.
This hosting solution provides peace of mind through guaranteed up-time and many of EZ Healthcare’s client accounts noted that they saw a “significant” increase in speed and performance compared to their previous solution.
