Wix has proprietary coding that creates boundaries on what themes, plugins and added features can be incorporated. Your site might only be one page today but it will surely grow as your business grows. So, these limitations to the structure of your site can be frustrating.

WordPress’s open platform allows a variety of well tested plugins, like WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, and WPRocket that are all designed to increase your site’s performance. In addition to this, experienced coders are not limited to coloring in the lines and can provide a customized website that is a true reflection of your business offering.

Own Your Own Content with WordPress

With WordPress you own your content and site assets. Wix it’s hosted by them, through them. This means if you want to move to another platform (like WordPress) down the road, you wouldn’t be able to do a quick transfer because they get to keep everything. Essentially you’d be starting from scratch. If your site is a single page, this is much easier to do than when you’ve built a multi-page site that is content rich.

So, while WordPress can be a little more of an investment up front, it tends to pay off better for our clients in the long run.
